HOW TO DO PLASTER CALCULATION | PLASTERING OF MORTAR CALCULATION
Plaster Calculation :
Plaster calculation by L X B
L= Length
B= Breadth
Taking the ratio of cement mortar of 1 : 6 proportion :
1 : 6 proportion means, 1 part of cement and 6 part of sand or dry sand ( quarry sand ).
Consider the 1 meter X 1 meter wall surface -
Consider the mortar thickness is 12mm.
So Volume of mortar in plaster = 1 meter X 1 meter X 0.012 meter.
= 0.012 Cu.m
Dry Volume is = 0.012 X 1.33 { because 1.33 is dry factor }
= 0.01596 Cu.m
Now,
Cement = 0.01596 X [(1/7) X1440 ] { Cement Density = 1440}
= 3.28 Kg or
= 3.28/50
= 0.0656 Cement Bag.
Sand = 0.01596 X[(6/7) X 35.31 { Density of sand = 35.31 }
= 0.483 Cu.ft or
sand can also calculation in the proportion of 1:6
i.e., 1 proportion of cement and 6 proportion sand
i.e., 3.28 X 6 =19.68 Kg.
i.e., 0.0656 X 6 = 0.3936 Bag.
i.e. , 0.3936 X 1.226 = 0.483 Cu.ft { 1 Bag of Cement = 1.226 Cu,ft }
Note :
1) This calculation is done for only 1 Sq.m area. You can multiply the quantity and get answer.
2) Cement density is 1440.
3) In one cement bags equal to 50kgs of cement.
4) 1 bag is equal to 1.226 Cu.ft .
5) The plaster is done in both portion inside and outside. The inside plaster is 12mm thickness and outer side or external plaster is 20 mm thickness minimum.
