Admixtures :

Suitable materials added to concrete mix, just before the mixing of concrete or during mixing of concrete to modify one or more properties of concrete are called Admixture.

Advantages of Admixtures :

1) Increase the rate of strength.

2) To increase workability without changing water cement ratio.

3) To retard initial setting time.

4) To decrease heat evolution.

5) To increase strength.

6) To decrease rate of bleeding and segregation.
